I've featured several photographers on this blog and figured it was time to spotlight another! London-based Lara Jade Coton is another one of my favorite visual artists. Getting her start as a teenager by posting self portraits on Flickr and DeviantArt, attention came quickly, including from a company that illegally used one of her photos on the cover of a pornographic DVD. Did I mention that the photo was taken when she was 14? Lara sued and, after several years, won her case. Now a professional fashion photographer (and just 21!), I must admit that I prefer the dark, crumbling fairytale mood of her earlier work to the more beauty-focused magazine editorials she's helmed as of late.
